Early literacy is an amazing adventure. From this course, I realized that literacy begins from even the youngest ages. Young children can start learning about literacy by even picking up a book and holding it upright. Parents, peers, and teachers should start reading to children even before they are able to read themselves. Reading to young children can start their awareness of sounds, letters, and words. This begins their adventure in the literacy world. Picture books and eventually drawing pictures to convey messages and stories is another way to implement reading for even the youngest of children. The best thing to do is have text available for children so they are able to explore all forms of literature and genres. The goal is to allow everyone to explore and learn to love reading. There are also different ability levels for each child and I was able to see this in the field which was a great experience.
